About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. As the Senior Advisor Safe Production Systems HandS Lead, you will play a pivotal role in advancing health and safety practices within our organization. You will combine technical expertise in health and safety systems with strong interpersonal skills to coach, influence, and develop our team members. This position requires a deep understanding of health and safety fundamentals and a proactive approach to promoting a culture of safety. Reporting to theHS Principal Advisor,and working in a collaborative community, you will: * Liaison between the Rio Tinto Safe Production System team and Health and Safety team to set up alignment and successful strategy. * Become the team expert on Safe Production System best practices, including, but not limited to: Frontline Risk Assessment, Practical Problem Solving, Three in a Row, LiF (Leadership in the Field), QSI (Quality Safety Interactions), and Coaching. * Become the team expert in HS fundamentals, including, but not limited to risk management, incident investigation and action management. * Train and coach peers and leaders on adopting and implementing Safe Production System best practices. Develop and enhance their skills in health and safety through a mindset and behavior lens. * Use your strong influencing skills to drive adoption of safety initiatives and best practices across the HS team and the organization. * Work closely with senior safety advisors and teams to ensure alignment and consistency in safety best practices. * Deploy Safe Production System Best Practices for the HandS Team. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of health and safety processes and systems based on evolving industry standards and organizational needs. * Support Safe Production System and Safety Maturity Model integration. * Perform Safe Production System health checks and track applicable KPI's. * Identify and support stakeholders who are impacted, including site GM, site, and functional leadership teams, those beyond the site, contracting partners, Rio Tinto Safe Production System sponsors, and leadership. * Remove barriers and escalate issues on behalf of the site-based HS teams. * Occasionally fill in for senior safety advisors on site and participate in incident investigations, ensuring continuity and adherence to best practices.
