We are looking for aSenior Geologistto manage the ore body knowledge efforts for the underground execution team.The successful candidate will design drilling plans for resource in-fill, geotechnical and hydrological programs. The role will work closely across disciplines on design requirements, with the Drilling Superintendent in scheduling drilling activities, with the long-term study team to merge production and study models, and with the technical services team to ensure execution tasks are properly accounted for in the plan. The role will be instrumental in acquiring quality geological data and building geological models for downstream users. The role's main task is to collect drilling data and interpret, update, and maintain existing geologic and build production models for use in short-term plans. This role is a great opportunity to influence all aspects of underground diamond drilling, manage drilling data collection, and build geological, geotechnical and production models in support of underground operations and production. The role is critical to ongoing mine operations and future expansions in terms of geological and resource knowledge. Reporting to the Principal Advisor - Geosciences, you will: * Work in a safe manner and promote safety culture through company programs. * Perform regular inspections at drill sites and logging facilities. * Develop drilling plans for orebody knowledge and hydrology and work with the Drilling Superintendent to define drilling priorities and develop drilling schedules. * Provide quality checks on core logging data and validate drilling data for entry into the diamond drilling database. Perform core logging duties on occasion. * Issue reviewed diamond drill plans for execution. * Manage (create, update, and review) the geological, geotechnical and short-term production models critical to understanding and planning the extraction of the resource. * Communicate and manage geological models, including updates with new information. * Interact with mine groups; geologists, mine engineers and planners, geotechnical engineers, hydrologists etc., regarding geologic models and interpretation. What you'll bring To succeed in this role, you will have: * Degree qualification in geology (Bachelor's degree or equivalent). * Strong commitment to safety and promotion of a safety culture. * At least 5 years in underground mining environments or complex poly-metallic value chains, preferably as a Senior Geologist. * Experience in the design, execution, and management of diamond drilling programs. * Experience developing 3D geologic models, including block modelling and grade estimation. * Strong capability in 3D modelling software (Leapfrog, Vulcan, or equivalent) and proficiency with AcQuire databases. * Ability to work in cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure models are communicated and integrated across the business. * Strong communication skills, including preparation of technical reports and presentations to peers from other mine disciplines and senior management. * Ability to solve and communicate technical problems with practical solutions.
