Summary

Torque is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) to oversee the EHS programs across our mobile maintenance operations for commercial motor vehicles throughout the United States. This role is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive safety, health, and environmental programs that safeguard employees, enhance compliance, and drive Torque's competitive edge in the industry. As the Senior Manager of EHS, you will provide strategic direction, ensure regulatory compliance, and play a key role in fostering a safety culture that protects our employees and clients while supporting Torque's growth and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development & Implementation: Create and manage compliance programs and safety management systems for Torque’s mobile maintenance services, focusing on employee safety, health, environmental protection, and regulatory adherence.

  • Safety & Risk Management: Conduct hazard analysis and site evaluations, identify potential risks, and develop proactive solutions to minimize workplace incidents and injuries. Manage safety processes to ensure a safe and compliant work environment across mobile maintenance sites.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Agency Interaction: Serve as Torque’s primary point of contact with regulatory agencies, handling inspections, compliance issues, and employee safety concerns related to OSHA, DOT, and other relevant regulations.

  • Strategic Leadership in Safety Services: Provide oversight and guidance on safety processes to maintain a competitive advantage, reduce safety-related losses, and ensure high standards of operational safety. Act as a key resource for developing and executing safety strategies that support client retention and service expansion.

  • Employee Training & Development: Develop and deliver training programs for employees and supervisors on safety protocols, industrial hygiene, ergonomic practices, and hazardous material handling. Ensure continuous improvement of staff skills, focusing on safe maintenance practices and compliance.

  • Team Management & Development: Lead and supervise EHS Analysts, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and professional development. Establish performance metrics, conduct regular assessments, and foster a culture of safety and continuous learning within the EHS team.

  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track key performance metrics related to safety, health, and environmental compliance. Provide regular updates and results-based insights to senior leadership, including trends, safety incident analyses, and regulatory compliance metrics.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align EHS initiatives with business objectives. Act as a safety subject matter expert for cross-functional projects and client engagements.

  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Drive the development and implementation of innovative safety solutions, creating new safety protocols and enhancing existing processes to support Torque’s commitment to operational excellence and employee well-being.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • 10+ years of experience managing EHS programs, with a background in mobile maintenance, transportation, or a related industry.

  • Certifications preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or other recognized EHS certifications.

  • Strong understanding of OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations, with a proven track record of managing compliance in a dynamic, field-based environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop EHS staff, fostering a safety-first culture across a dispersed workforce.

  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.

  • Proven experience with implementing EHS management systems, conducting hazard assessments, and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Travel:

Up to 50% travel required to various locations to support mobile maintenance sites and conduct site evaluations.

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.

Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type :

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

$90,000

Maximum Pay Range:

$100,000

The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
