Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated communications student with video production and other multimedia experience to work alongside the Price College of Engineering’s communications staff. This internship would entail at least 15 hours per week of remote work during standard business hours (M-F, 8am-5:30pm). The position will continue through the end of the fall semester and may be extended through the end of the Spring semester by mutual interest. Pay is $15 per hour.

All U Communications department students, particularly those in the Science-Communications track, are invited to apply.

Experience with photography, videography, and related editing software.

Responsibilities

  • Produces a variety of public-facing multimedia content, including short narrative videos, b-roll, portrait photography, and basic graphic design.

  • Operates video production equipment for internal messaging, recorded lectures, etc.

  • Works alongside science writers to extend public reach of stories with multimedia content.

  • Organizes and maintains office multimedia database

  • Ensures that deadlines are met.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferences

Currently enrolled University of Utah (undergraduate or graduate) student in Communications, (student in the Science-Communications track a plus). Strong verbal and visual communication skills with a firm grasp of technological terms and ideas, with strong writing skills a plus. Ability to work both individually and in a team setting. Experience using Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premier editing software. Familiarity with Canon DSLR and GoPro cameras for shooting video.
