Actalent Civil Professional Engineer Of EV in San Antonio, Texas

Actalent is seeking a Civil Professional Engineer with a minimum of 3 years experience supporting Electric Vehicle infrastructure projects through design engineering and greenfield site layout based on storm water pollution prevention plans and state regulations.

This is an opportunity to join a national engineering firm directly, working remotely with monthly travel of 2-3 days to the office and/or sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement civil engineering solutions for Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with California state regulations and industry standards.

  • Assess strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel by testing materials and soil.

  • Use design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs; plan and design other necessary and related systems.

  • Set design specifications by computing grade requirements, ADA access, traffic flow rates, and similar parameters.

  • Proficient in greenfield site layout, EV stall design, storm water pollution prevention plan, grading projects based on the analysis of relevant materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.

  • Draft and present reports on topics related to projects such as environmental impact statements, traffic study, and right-of-way descriptions.

  • Collaborate with surveyors to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.

  • Design concrete pad foundations for EV chargers, switchgear, electrical equipment, signage, canopies, lighting, and other structural elements on EV Charging Sites.

  • Design retaining walls, storm water runoff mitigation solutions (retention ponds, underground collection systems, etc.), ADA compliant parking arrangements, and paths of travel.

  • Perform storm water runoff calculations.

  • Consult with and provide guidance to project stakeholders and managerial staff regarding engineering requirements for construction of various designs, modifications, and structural repairs.

  • Monitor project progress to ensure design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure projects progress properly.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Licensed as a professional engineer (PE) in the State of California (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date)

  • Minimum 3 years design engineering experience for EV infrastructure projects
