Jacobs Electrical Engineer - Buildings Design in San Antonio, Texas

We're seeking an Electrical Engineer to be an important part of our Austin/San Antonio team!

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads electrical design activities

  • Supports project managers in developing scope, schedule, and meeting client expectations

  • Accountable for schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks

  • Effectively recognizes and communicates scope and design changes

  • Produces single-line diagrams, installation details, electric room layouts, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding, lighting designs, power plans, breaker coordination studies, and Arc Flash / Short-Circuit Current studies

  • Provides local, on-site field investigations and construction reviews

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Professional Engineer License (PE)

  • At least 4 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering (power)

  • Knowledge and application of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

  • Knowledge and application of other NFPA codes and industry standards

  • Familiarity of design and construction specifications

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Working knowledge of Revit or other 3D BIM software

  • Water, Commercial, higher education, and federal experience
