Job Title: Laboratory Technologist

Job Description

The Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in our Cell and Tissue Reference lab. Main responsibilities will include microbiology testing, sterility testing, environmental monitoring testing, and culture swabs on tissue and/or equipment. Other duties will involve microbial identification and detection testing using a bac t monitoring system, gram stains and mass spec. The role also involves tissue donor infectious disease testing, component QC testing, and confirmatory infectious disease testing.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelors of Science in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or Biochemistry

  • 1 year of professional experience with microbiology testing, Western blotting, PCR, tissue cultures

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in San Antonio, Texas.

Work Environment

This is a medical laboratory environment in our Cell and Tissue Reference laboratory. The team size is 12. The training schedule will be for 1-2 weeks from Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. The permanent schedule will be Thursday - Saturday alternating Wednesday 7am - 7:30pm. The culture is a medical lab with biology-based backgrounds, sterile and clean environment. The dress code is solid colored scrubs and closed-toed shoes.
