Job Description

As a key member of the Research team, the Senior Associate Research will be responsible for producing and editing high-quality, engaging, and informative content related to the institutional real estate market. The role requires an understanding of the real estate industry, excellent writing and editing skills, and a passion for delivering accurate and compelling content.

Essential Duties:

  • Content Creation: Research, write, and edit articles, blog posts, market reports, and other content pieces covering issues of interest to investors and the firm including significant investment strategy pieces.

  • Market Analysis: Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in the economy, capital market, and real estate market including housing, commercial real estate, mortgage rates, and regulatory policies. Conduct thorough research to gather relevant data and insights for content creation.

  • Audience Engagement: Develop content strategies to engage and educate our target audience, which may include investors, consultants, real estate professionals, and industry stakeholders. Tailor content to resonate with various audience segments and platforms.

  • SEO Optimization: Ensure that all content is optimized for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility and drive organic traffic to our website. Use keyword research and SEO best practices to optimize headlines, meta descriptions, and content structure.

  • Quality Assurance: Review and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity, coherence, and adherence to brand guidelines. Check for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting errors. Collaborate with team members to maintain consistence in style and tone across all content.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the data analytic, marketing, and design teams to develop integrated content. Collaborate with subject matter experts, real estate analysts, and industry professionals to gather insights and input for content creation.

  • Deadline Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to tight deadlines. Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content.

  • Writing and Editing Projects: Sample projects for which this position will be responsible include:

  • Coordinating the production and development of drafts for our annual House View;

  • Producing periodic vignettes on issues of interest to investors;

  • Writing quarterly market reviews as part of the client reporting process;

  • Writing and editing articles for the firm’s monthly internal newsletter;

  • Writing and editing white papers on various fund strategies;

  • Producing and editing occasional papers on topics of interest for publication in leading industry journals;

  • Producing periodic research reports on metropolitan real estate markets of interest; and

  • Assisting with the production and editing of presentations.

  • Additional duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Real Estate, or related field.

  • 3+ years proven experience in writing and editing content for the real estate industry.

  • Must be willing to work on-site five days a week, with flexibility for remote work as-needed for specific reasons.

  • Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job title.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling.

  • Knowledge of the real estate market, including industry trends, terminology, and best practices.

  • Proficiency in SEO and content optimization techniques.

  • Excellent research skills and the ability to analyze complex data and market trends.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in content management and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • A portfolio of published writing samples related to the real estate market is highly desirable.
