Lifestream New Business Development Manager (22129) in San Bernardino, California

POSITION SUMMARY The essential element of the New Business Development Manager is to develop new business with hospitals and increase our donor base through new blood drive account acquisition. Responsible for cold calling potential new donor groups, new donors and potential hospital customers. This position will develop, maintain, and expand relationships that result in new hospital customers and blood drives with new businesses, churches, schools and at key community events. A blood drive is considered new if it is not in the Hemasphere and/or HemaCollect system and there is no record of a previous blood drive at this business/account. Responsible for a comprehensive working knowledge of the opportunities in our service territory including new and expanding businesses, demographics, organizations, schools, and churches. Uses this knowledge to constantly identify strategic opportunities for growth and expansion within assigned territory. The New Business Development Manager works in collaboration with the Regional Account Managers (RAMs) to coordinate blood drives, community events, and recruitment activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Develop a comprehensive working knowledge of the potential opportunities within assigned territory, including potential hospital customers, new and expanding businesses, demographic makeup, organizations, schools, churches and major events. Use this knowledge to identify strategic opportunities for growth and expansion (new blood drives and hospital customers) within the assigned territory. 2. Make cold calls to potential strategic partners to secure new customers which includes both potential hospital customers and new blood drive accounts. This could include in-person meetings, phone calls and digital outreach. 3. Procure new blood drive accounts by developing relationships with organizations not running blood drives with LifeStream. Work with assigned Territory Manager to secure resources for each blood drive, including staffing and equipment. 4. Host at least two successful blood drives at each new account before transitioning account over to the appropriate RAM (based on territory). Each blood drive must collect a minimum of 18 usable units with a minimum projection accuracy of at least 70% for the first drive and 80% for the second blood drive. 5. Successfully transition each new approved account to appropriate RAM. Ensure RAM has all the necessary information to guarantee future blood drives will be successful including an introduction to blood drive chairperson, account logistics, and key contact information. 6. Serve as a representative for LifeStream at community events and speaking engagements with the goal of gaining new blood donors and donor groups. 7. Work collaboratively with RAMs in assigned territory to ensure proper utilization of staffing and equipment resources. When necessary, collaboratively identify solutions to blood drive scheduling when resource calendar conflicts arise. 8. Other duties as assigned.

NATURE AND EXTENT OF SUPERVISION PROVIDED TO THE POSITION Overall, objectives and resource allocations are determined by the Supervisor, providing broad administrative direction, with assignments given in terms of broadly defined missions or functions. Employee plans, designs, and carries out programs, projects, studies, or other work independently. Results are considered technically sound by virtue of the employees expertise, and are generally accepted with review only for conformity to objectives, contribution to program goals, or advancement of technological understanding.

EDUCATION Bachelors Degree (BA) in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE Experience in sales/territory management, with a strong background in customer service is required. Excellent verbal and written communication and public speaking skills in both English and Spanish is preferred. Sales and marketing experience is strongly preferred.
