DeVine is a leading provider of Scientific and Technical solutions for Federal, State and commercial clients.
Our company is looking for an Accountant to join DeVine in San Diego, CA. The successful hire will have strong problem solving & communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a team setting. Government accounting experience is required and Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus.
The Accountant will be an integral member of DeVine's HQ providing expertise in accounting, finance, and compliance for Federal, State and commercial contracts.

Accounting & Bookkeeping:
Maintain and update accounting records by performing duties such as recording and posting transactions in journals and the general ledger for accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank/loan/credit card account
Conduct periodic audit of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
Issue financial statements
Compile reports to show cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, balance sheet, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business
Assemble information for external auditors for annual audits
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
Arrange payment of accounts
General Job Responsibilities:
Lead payroll activities including montoring timesheets & time inputs, and processing payroll
Determine cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collect operational data
Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
Guide company cost analysis process by establishing policies & procedures; provide trends & forecasts; explain processes and techniques; recommend actions
Improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management
Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
Develop automated accounting applications
Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications
Contract and Compliance Management:
Monitor contract value and CLINs to ensure proper cost collection, reporting and related funding status
Track subcontract cost & schedule status, material receipts, open commitments, and termination liability
Interact with federal government contract audit (DCAA) and contracts administration personnel
Lead audit request responses on systems reviews of billing, labor, purchasing, estimating system and indirect costs
Support responses for Cost Accounting Standards and Incurred Cost Submissions
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university required
Must have 3+ years' intermediate, or higher access, experience with enterprise level accounting software; Deltek Costpoint experience a plus
Government accounting experience and 4+ years' Accounting/GAAP expertise required
Proficient with spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications
Excellent time management & organizational skills ; Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Familiar with GSA pricing schedules and CAS compliance requirements a plus
Knowledge of Federal Government Contracting/Bidding Process/Cost Proposals and accounting systems a plus
About the position:
Position Type: Full-time, no residency sponsorship available

Compensation: $99,000 - $124,000 per year DOE and skills
