Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in San Diego, California

Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the non-profit industry with potential to go permanent, based in San Diego, California. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be involved in a variety of tasks including processing invoices, maintaining contractor paperwork, assisting with audits, and handling cash, check, and credit card transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process incoming invoices, expense reports, cash advances, and check requests

• Scan and file documents into a digital format

• Prepare journal entries and provide required support as requested

• Ensure the Purchase Tracking log is updated with all order information

• Upload accounts payable and invoicing data into the General Ledger System

• Handle employee petty cash and expense reports

• Process and maintain paperwork for independent contractors

• Establish and maintain physical and electronic files, record-keeping, and tracking systems

• Assist with internal and external audits by compiling required supporting documentation

• Handle monthly requests for reimbursements claims from funders and compile necessary support documentation

• Deposit and input all related Cash, Check, and Credit Card transactions into the accounting system

• Generate End-of-Shifts and compile backup documentation for End-of-Day Packets

• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned and assist with maintaining proper document storage and auditing.

Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and accounts payable (AP).

• Demonstrated experience in check runs and coding invoices.

• Strong data entry skills.

• Experience in invoice processing.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Familiarity with Oracle, SAP, and NetSuite.

• Proven ability to prepare journal entries.

• Experience with month-end close activities.

• Prior experience working in the non-profit sector is a plus.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
