This is a casual, grant funded position which is subject to renewal by August 2025

JOB SUMMARY:

As a member of the Variant Interpretation and Reporting team at RCIGM, the individual serves in a project lead role alongside scientists, bioinformaticians, nurses and clinicians, to help analyze and interpret genomic patient data. The team at Rady Children's Institute for Genomic Medicine (RCIGM) is dedicated to changing the landscape of pediatric medicine and providing rapid diagnoses to children throughout the US. This individual will lead key initiatives in line with RCIGM goals of expanding interpretation and reporting capabilities and may also directly supervise members of the interpretation and reporting team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctorate Degree (non MD)

5 Years of Experience

Ph.D. and 5 years' experience or MS in Genetics or other life science and 7 years' experience

Computer skills including experience analyzing and interpreting Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data in a clinical laboratory environment

Experience with variant and gene curation in accordance with established guidelines and policies

Ability to understand and utilize public and private variant databases

Familiarity with genomic testing market, tools, and reporting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Familiarity with clinical genetic report writing

The current salary range for this position is $55.60 to $76.45

A candidate’s placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
