RGP Director of Legal Operations Consultant in San Diego, California

  • Manage key processes that are critical to the Legal Department including: the e-Billing system, contract lifecycle management, technology tools that enable scale and leverage to the legal team, law firm billing procedures and practices; department measurement and benchmarking.

  • This role will be responsible for helping to manage costs, while fostering a culture that values excellence, teamwork, respect, and recognition.

  • Work across practice areas within the Legal Department and other support functions to enable the efficient and effective delivery of legal services to our business and functional partners.

  • Manage global budgeting, outside counsel spending, and accrual processes in collaboration with legal and finance teams.

  • Project manage key initiatives to support legal systems, change & process management in partnership with IT and procurement.

  • Stay updated on legal operations trends and best practices to advise the General Counsel.

  • Develop metrics aligned with the Chief Legal Officer’s strategic plan to track legal department objectives and effectiveness.

  • Oversee the implementation of a technology roadmap for legal systems, ensuring optimal utilization of tools and resources.

  • Minimum of 5+ yearsas a Business/Operations Manager in a corporate legal department including experience withtechnology trends.

  • In-house legal experience preferred.

  • Equivalent experience as a business/operations manager within other functionssuch as Compliance, Privacy, People, Finance, Procurement, and/or Commercialwill also be considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced Management degree preferred.

  • Prior experience with developing and implementing work systems and processesrelated to business operations.

  • Strong system administration management skills or background.

  • Prior experience with regulatory compliance technologies a plus.

  • Experience in managing and directing a team a plus.

  • Variety of workplace arrangements including hybrid, remote, onsite.   

  • Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.  

  • Pay Range: $ (100/hour DOE)
