Jacobs Drinking Water & Reuse Project Manager in San Diego, California

We’re seeking a Drinking Water & Reuse Project Manager to join our team in any of our Southern California offices (Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego). Someone who can use their vast experience in the water and wastewater industry and apply it to today’s challenges. As a valued Jacobs employee, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve successful design of water treatment facilities, pump stations, conveyance and pipelines, and help lead clients to the correct treatment approach by utilizing desktop calculations, alternative analysis, bench testing, pilot testing, and full-scale operational troubleshooting. You’ll have the opportunity to work with conventional and advanced treatment processes, including coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, granular media filtration, biological filtration, membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, disinfection (ozone, UV, chlorine), advanced oxidation , adsorption (e.g. GAC, IX), and other treatment processes.

We’ll rely on you to support business development efforts and help in the pursuit of new projects, as well as work directly with clients on the projects and tasks that you are leading, developing long-term client relationships.   • Bachelor’s Degree in civil, chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering.

  • Licensed CA Professional Engineer (Civil)

  • At least 10 years of experience in relevant water/wastewater industry and process engineering, including drinking water and reuse systems

  • Planning and design experience in water distribution system, including pipelines, pumps stations and storage tanks

  • Planning and design experience in drinking water and reuse systems, including treatment plants for groundwater, surface water and reuse applications.

  • Demonstrated understanding of drinking water supply, master planning, and treatment processes and technologies.

  • Demonstrated track record of managing and delivering multiple water projects

  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a multi-disciplinary team

  • Ability to lead the design and preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, studies, proposals and/or reports.

  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule.

  • Self-motivated, initiator; demonstrated through professional society involvements or related activities.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • A Master's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline

  • Los Angeles/Orange County experience

  • Ability to serve as the technical liaison/leader between the project owner and the design team

  • Experience working with local permitting agencies (e.g. SWRCB, DDW)

  • Business development, interpersonal, and networking skills that can be combined with the significant resources that we have available across Jacobs to gain market share

  • Experience support business development activities with local clients
