We are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to lead a team of talented & passionate engineers focused on battery management, power, and performance. You will be responsible for building and driving a team that works closely with cross-functional partners to push the AirPods user experience. In this role you will have the opportunity to collaborate and lead exciting engineering initiatives by partnering closely with a wide variety of teams across Apple.

Description

As a manager, you will play a significant part in the development of products by leading a team in very collaborative, rapidly changing environment. You will contribute at every stage of the product development cycle, from concept to production, driving both enabling technologies and individual product features. Core Responsibilities: -Lead the investigation, analysis and development of new features and technologies -Bring up new hardware and silicon platforms -Drive custom silicon requirements and validation activities -Continuously drive improvements in energy efficiency and battery longevity -Work with leaders across Apple to deliver a phenomenal user experience

Minimum Qualifications

    • 5+ years of proven excellence in firmware, device driver, or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years leading an embedded software or firmware development team
    • Expertise and proficiency in C/C++ * Passionate about developing and mentoring team members
    • BS or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

    • Knowledge of battery chargers (PMUs), state of health and state of charge estimation
    • Experience with RTOS embedded development and multithreaded programming
    • Experience with MCUs, peripherals, features, and development environments
    • Able to coordinate the efforts of multiple teams
    • Passion for product ownership and track record of product development
    • Highly organized, creative, motivated, and passionate about achieving results

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $272,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
