The Product Security Engineering team is a group of multidisciplinary engineers responsible for developing and delivering the next generation of secure product innovations in medical instrumentation technology through the use of state-of-the-art cybersecurity methodologies, standards, best practices, and tools.

Throughout the 10-12 weeks you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the following:

  • Assist with integration and automation of software tools supporting security vulnerability discovery, tracking/trending, reporting, and management

  • Assist with developing automation for creation of documentation and manifests from software composition analysis tools

  • Assist with developing automation and/or procedures for enhancing and maintaining security lab testing environment infrastructure

  • Gain broad exposure to the product development lifecycle for medical devices, and dive deeper into specific phases of this lifecycle

We’re looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following:

  • Able to work full-time over the summer months (May/June - August/Sept)

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program and have at least one semester remaining to complete after the internship

  • Majoring in Computer Science, Management Information Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Rising Senior or Graduate student

  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems and computer network infrastructure

  • Experience working with scripting languages such as Python

  • Ability to work onsite at our San Diego, CA campus. Intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided

The hourly pay range for this role is $22 - $35 per hour. Compensation is determined by class standing and operational function.
