This is a unique opportunity to join the Managed Care team of a leading global life sciences company that advances patient health and powers clear, confident decisions through its diagnostics and drug development offerings.

This position reports to the Area Director of Business Development of IPA’s in CA, and will be responsible for retention and growth of Provider Organizations in CA. The key objective of the MCE is to accelerate revenue through strategic partnerships with new customers and further development of our business with existing customers, using Labcorp’s entire portfolio of tests and services, to effectively win and convert new business.

We are seeking an individual with competitive and collaborative sales and contracting expertise, with a high degree of communication and business acumen skills who enjoys growing and working with a seasoned, high performing team across a wide variety of high growth segments.

The position will meet with clients in person and will require occasional travel within the state of California.

The geographic territory for this position will cover: Southern, California

  • Responsible for retention and growth of existing regional managed care clients, VBC networks and large ambulatory clinic organizations

  • Provide oversight to insure contractual deliverables and service levels are met.

  • Negotiate as appropriate with operational associates to arrive at cost-effective, client friendly solutions to service delivery issues.

  • Establish, build and maintain positive, professional relationships at all decision levels within managed care client base.

  • Reinforce our superiority as the national laboratory service, and information leader in the healthcare industry.

  • Demonstrate value-added solutions using a professional consultative selling approach.

  • Developing health system and related VBC strategy with divisional leadership

  • Work in conjunction with the Regional Managers Business Development to identify additional new business opportunity.

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for assigned sales revenue retention. Provide field input for service enhancement and new service innovation.

  • Communicate issues, concerns and problems in a solution oriented manner.

  • Keep management and marketing appraised of competitive activity within assigned region/accounts.

  • Provide management with timely reporting as required and requested.

Position requires:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare or related field,

  • 10+ years' experience creating and/or building strategic sales relationships with healthcare accounts

  • Servicing and business development in Northern and Southern CA regions with Managed Care and IPA Clients.

  • Overnight travel is required 1-2 times per month.

  • Travel is estimated at 25% of the time by car.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's in Business or Healthcare and/or healthcare management preferred

  • Experience in Value-Base Care Contracting or Management

  • Experience within Labcorp

  • Experience working in clinical setting

  • Experience combining clinical knowledge and healthcare operations

  • C-level Suite sales experience

Pay Range: $100,000 to $130,000 base salary plus commission

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.
