If you are not sure you’re 100% qualified but are up for the challenge – we want you to apply. We believe skills are transferable and passion for our mission goes a long way.  Your role as Manager, People & Culture:        You will be primarily responsible for all aspects of Human Resources for assigned client groups, acting as a first point of contact and focusing on providing a positive client experience. This position works on tasks pertaining to talent management, employee relations, employee engagement, training and development, compensation, and internal communication. All the responsibilities we will trust you with: * Serves as a strategic business partner with client group management teams to ensure that all business goals, objectives, and challenges are met, while adhering to the organizations policies and procedures * Lead the talent acquisition conversation with client groups, providing strategic advice on how to best staff department and ensure talent success. Provide action plan to Talent Acquisition Specialist to execute * Manages the Front Office training and development function, including, but not limited to development and implementation of trainings, managing LMS system, tracking completion rates, and ensuring compliance with all required trainings (state, MLB, etc.). Some examples include, but are not limited to: sexual harassment, workplace violence prevention, MLB domestic violence prevention, and MLB sports betting, etc. * Act as the primary liaison with Baseball Operations in managing talent acquisition, employee relations, contract tracking and compliance, HR documentation, personnel changes for players and coaches and executing of Human Resources initiatives with oversight from the head of People & Culture * Manage the Summer Internship Program, including the recruitment of interns, placement, events coordination, etc. * Manage Front Office recognition programs, including the Service Award program, Employee of the Quarter, MLB’s Lifetime Gold Pass program, etc. * Manage the Front Office Performance Management system for Front Office staff * Coach, counsel and develop talent as it relates to the results of performance reviews * Develop and manage the full cycle of employee performance standards and accountability Partner with managers to create write-ups and Performance Improvement Plans for employees who are falling short of expectations * Collect, respond, and investigate all Front Office employee complaints and present findings to head of People & Culture to determine outcome * Partner with People & Culture Coordinator(s) to execute Front Office promotions, transfers, terminations, etc. * Support client groups compensation needs, including providing market and internal data for job offers and the development and tracking of compensation plans for commissioned employees * Ensures organizational compliance with compensation standards (min wage, living wage, exempt, etc. for both in state, out of state, and international employees) * Executes DEI&B initiatives, communication, and programming * Coordinates all Front Office employee engagement initiatives. This includes the planning, communication, and execution of employee activities, programs and events that may include staff outings, quarterly and other ad-hoc employee meetings, employee celebrations, holiday events/parties, company-wide potlucks, collection/donation drives, etc. * Maintain and enforce company policies, contribute and assist in maintaining updated employee handbook * Manage and respond to incoming questions and provide thoughtful responses in a timely manner * Conducts exit interviews to gather feedback from departing employees. Summarizes feedback and provides regular reports and recommendations on how the organization can improve * Stay current with local, state, and federal employment laws and provide recommendations for compliance Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:            * Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and experience working with ATS and HRIS systems (Hireology and ADP Workforce Now respectively) * Experience using training development software (Articulate) and/or Learning Management Software (Docebo) preferred * Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner * Ability to multitask, set priorities and complete numerous tasks and projects while maintaining a strong customer service mentality and focus * Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines * Ability to safeguard and maintain confidential information * Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability * Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance You will be required to meet the following: * Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment * 4-year bachelor’s degree, or education equivalent, preferably in Business Administration and/or Human Resources * SHRM or PHR/SPHR Certification highly preferred * 3-5 years’ previous HR management experience in a fast-paced office environment * Demonstrated ability to write and edit professional documents, training materials, disciplinary memos, co-wide communications, policies and procedures * Knowledge of HR employment practices and ability to stay abreast of current legislation * Knowledge of baseball industry and contract/movement terminology strongly preferred * Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred * Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed * Able to travel as needed, specifically to Arizona or other minor league affiliate locations as needed * Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds * As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check Salary and additional compensation: Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 to $85,000. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
