Job Title: Marine Field Installation Technician

Job Description

  • Seeking a skilled Marine Field Installation Technician to join our Field Installation Services team, dedicated to servicing US Navy ships. This role involves the installation, termination, and testing of fiber optic and copper cable assemblies supporting various ship services such as power, communication, telephone, and alarm systems. The technician will install, tag, and band cables.

  • Additional tasks include performing layout, fabrication, and electrical wiring installation.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot and test cables, and manage complex tasks related to electrical installations.

  • The role demands precise interpretation of drawings and technical manuals, and adherence to rigorous safety and quality standards.

Hard Skills

  • Installation, termination, and testing of fiber optic and copper cables

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals

  • Proficient in using multi-meters, pin crimpers, soldering tools

  • Fabrication and installation of electrical wiring and cable systems

  • Troubleshooting and testing of cable circuits

Soft Skills

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Work Environment

Work will be performed at all Naval Bases (North Island and NBSD), NASSCO, CMSD, and BAE yards. The position is primarily 1st shift, with start times varying from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM. Candidates must be willing to work overtime, including weekends, and travel for extended periods as necessary.
