Our System Validation team is seeking a test engineer to develop software for automation, infrastructure, data / analytics, and other areas to support our system testing efforts. This position is for a strongly self-driven individual who is passionate about building great tools and infrastructure. There is tremendous room for creativity and new ideas in this space. Our team works on the latest products in the AR/VR/MR space and our testing encompasses system hardware, silicon, and software, with the goal of helping us deliver high performing products with amazing user experiences.

Description

You will be developing software and infrastructure to enable the automation of hardware validation on the latest Vision products. Key tasks will be:

• Development and maintenance of our automation framework (in Python) which supports test engineers to automate test coverage

• Development of infrastructure for our custom webapp used by test engineers to monitor hardware, kick off tests, and review test results

• Collaborate with test engineers and technical DRIs to develop test suites for new hardware / new features for existing hardware

• Contribute towards wrangling and analyzing our ever-growing database of test data

• Development of new tools and infrastructure to support tasks such as instrument automation, data review, reporting, etc.

• Debug and troubleshoot issues that come up during test execution

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related engineering/scientific disciplines

  • 3+ years of experience developing software for test automation

  • Self-driven, goal oriented, and well organized

  • Demonstrated experience developing in Python (strongly preferred) or similar OOP language (e.g. Lua)

  • Familiar with the following tools and technologies (or similar): Typical SW engineering tools (git, JIRA/radar, Docker, package managers, etc, WebApp frameworks (Django preferred) and process management (Celery, etc), Databases (Postgres, MySQL), MacOS/Linux shell scripting

  • Experience working on automation for hardware testing, potentially including test coverage development

  • Basic knowledge of modern processor/SoC architectures

  • Familiarity with AR/VR hardware

  • Experience with data engineering and data visualization toolsets

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
