SAIC Systems Engineer Lead in SAN DIEGO, California

Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced System Engineer Lead who will work closely with the Chief Engineer in support of our United States Air Force ABMS customer in San Diego, CA. The Lead System Engineer will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of complex systems by ensuring that all project requirements are thoroughly understood, documented, and effectively communicated throughout Systems Engineering V lifecycle.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Performing System Engineering activities from Requirements Maturation to architecture and detailed design.

  • Applying model-based system engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering principles to define Engineering Baseline, Functional Baseline, and Allocate Baseline down to Product Baseline.

  • Applying model-based system engineering (MBSE) to develop architectural views using DoDAF/MODAF (UPDM) and Systems Modeling Language (SysML).

  • Developing System Engineering Technical Reviews artifacts to support SFR, PDR to CDR (i.e., interface documents, specifications documents, architecture products).

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years or more experience; Master’s degree and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

  • Hands on experience leading and executing Systems Engineering Technical Reviews, SRR, SFR, PDR and CDR.

  • Experience developing SE technical baselines from EBL, FBL, ABL, DBL and PBL.

  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering V.

  • Experience deriving System and Sub-Subsystem Requirements from Concept of Operations.

  • Experience in DoDAF, SysML and UML modeling, simulation, and analysis.

  • Excellent written and oral (briefing) communication skills.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 15288, INCOSE).

DESIRED :

  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience using Cameo Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or other comparable tools.

  • Experience working in an Agile team/framework is highly desired.

  • Experience with CI/CD Pipelines.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
