Tactical Engineering & Analysis, INC Systems Engineer in San Diego, California

Overview

We are seeking a System Engineer to support the assigned client organization and will be responsible for providing providing engineering expertise in support of emerging platform requirements definition and integration support, including review of platform documentation, specifications, drawings and participating in associated Technical Interchange Meeting (TIMs), teleconferences, and platform Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process events.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Provides adaptable support to the systems engineering organization. Responsibilities may include direct program systems engineering support, collaboration with all functional levels of program and engineering staff on design, integration and test matters and support other teams/disciplines as necessary.

  • Provide engineering expertise in the research, analysis, and review of vendor documentation. And advise program manager(s) or Government client(s) with regard to planning, testing, and evaluated effectiveness of operations, programs, or systems.

  • Review functional performance and qualification test plans and/or procedures. Verifies complex system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and requirements. Plans and conducts systems engineering, engineering analyses, trade studies, and feasibility assessments supporting systems engineering activities, including technical support for Analyses of Alternatives (AoA).

  • Support defining, designing, and developing new system requirements and allocation of system and subsystem requirements and integration of total system.

  • Reviews functional performance and qualification test plans and/or procedures. Verifies complex system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and requirements.

  • Plans and conducts systems engineering, engineering analyses, trade studies, and feasibility assessments supporting systems engineering activities, includingtechnical support for Analyses of Alternatives (AoA).

  • Implements quality control measures to ensure the continued success of programs. Develops quantitative feasibility analyses on possible solutions to increase system effectiveness and integrate new capabilities. Conduct technical investigations in systems design and provides technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of communication systems.

  • Support performing management, reduction, and analysis of data, designing tests, and laboratory analyses, including scientific analyses and interpretation of research results for C4ISR systems. Supports architecting, reviewing, analyzing, testing and modifying systems of systems designs and implementations for C4ISR systems

Skills/Qualifications:

Six (6+) plus years experience:

  • Demonstrates an extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals, and capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact, as well as providing leadership and guidance to less experienced professionals.
  • Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems
  • Has past experience as an Integrated Product Team Lead.
  • Experience performing management, reduction, and analysis of data, designing tests, and laboratory analyses, including scientific analyses and interpretation of research results for C4ISR systems.
  • Experien e with system of systems design and development to C4ISR systems.
  • Experience architecting, reviewing, analyzing, testing and modifying systems of systems designs and implementations for C4ISR systems.
  • Experience with open architecture constructs like Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA), Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C5ISR)/Electronic Warfare Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS), Open Mission Systems (OMS), Open Communication Standard (OCS); utilizing the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI).
  • Experience with LPD (Low Probability of Detection) and LPI (Low Probability of Intercept) waveforms and anti-jam capabilities communication capabilities.

  • Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Follows established procedures.

Impact:

  • Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or inadequate work product should be detected by supervisory oversight but may cause delay in program schedules and allocation of additional resources.

Liaison:

  • Primarily internal company contacts, infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

Pay Range:$90,000.00 to $115,000.00 annually, DOE

U.S. Citizenship is required

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
