As a Venture Business Development Associate within the Startups organization at AWS, you will have an exciting opportunity to help deliver on the strategy to build mind share and broaden the use of Amazon’s cloud computing platform with venture-backed startups. Your responsibilities will include partnering with cross-functional AWS teams, developing and managing a suite of founder success programs, including workshops, mentorship initiatives, and networking events, and support AWS executives to build long-term relationships with the world’s top founders, accelerators, and venture firms. You will work closely with the AWS sales, technical, and marketing teams to drive engagements with startups that create long-term business opportunities. You’ll track and analyze program performance data to continually improve offerings and demonstrate ROI.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business and startup background and can effectively manage multiple programs simultaneously. They will have worked in a fast-paced and rigorous environment, whether in a corporate structure (e.g. major technology platform companies), startup company, and/or event planning firm. They should have a keen sense of ownership, curiosity, and bias for action. They will also possess a passion for learning about new and emerging technologies.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a suite of founder and CxO programs, including workshops, sponsorship and mentorship initiatives, and networking events

  • Create and maintain a curriculum of resources and best practices for founders across various stages of company growth

  • Implement processes to track founder and CxO engagement, program participation, and outcomes as well as analyze program performance data to continually improve offerings and demonstrate ROI

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal partners and third-party resources to enhance program offerings

  • Regularly communicate program updates and insights to internal stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • 3+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
