Meta Business Performance Specialist, Community, Regulatory, & Legal Enforcement Ops in San Francisco, California

Summary:

Every day, people come to Meta's family of apps to connect with friends and family, discover what's going on in the world, interact with businesses, find potential customers, and build community. Meta’s Global Operations team exists to help them. Within Global Response Operations, our Community, Regulatory, & Legal Specialized Enforcement Operations team is focused on protecting and reducing bad experiences for our users, regulators, business, and advertisers through the enforcement of Meta’s policies. We collaborate with teams from across Meta to resolve highly sensitive and complex cases. We are currently hiring for an experienced individual with a demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, and build strategic relationships across functional boundaries and/or globally to create and drive effective strategy. You will be part of a data-driven analysis culture and will also help scale our operations by optimizing and automating processes, solving problems and, most importantly, helping to prevent them. This role may involve exposure to potentially graphic and/or objectionable content including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other potential objectionable material. I.e., child exploitation, graphic violence, animal abuse, self-injury and other content which may be considered offensive or disturbing.

Required Skills:

Business Performance Specialist, Community, Regulatory, & Legal Enforcement Ops Responsibilities:

  1. Help shape team vision and goals and work across the global team on strategies for executing, measuring progress and sharing results

  2. Deliver projects involving quantitative analysis, industry research, and strategy development

  3. Build strategic relationships with global and cross-functional teams to understand and anticipate risks to the company, develop global solutions across operations and policy

  4. Build strong relationships and collaborate with a large and complex cross-functional group including Public Policy, Legal, Sales, Product, Oversight Board Governance and others to shape, support, and lead execution of multiple program or project goals

  5. Collaborate across Global Response Operations and cross-functional teams to ideate, scope, and implement the best suited generative AI solutions to enhance our team’s work

  6. Interpret and enforce Meta’s terms of service (Community Standards, Advertiser & Commerce Policies, Intellectual Property, Regulations (incl. content that may be graphic and objectionable)

  7. Utilize strategic tools, systems, and data to help the team analyze trends and deliver insights to define goals and improve processes

  8. Respond to escalated cases from users, regulators, and business/advertiser partners with high quality, accuracy, and speed

  9. Remain up-to-date on key workflow changes, operational guidelines, policy updates and Community Standards

  10. Anticipate the societal effects of different forms of online behavior, and test hypotheses and assumptions about online activity in an operations setting

  11. Synthesize review findings and policy assessments as needed for cross-functional partners in Policy, Partnerships, and Operations

  12. Develop and design processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness and ensure essential KPIs are met

  13. Mentor others in accomplishing the above with a high level of quality, as well as providing broad leadership to peers in executing multiple projects

  14. Please note that some weekend work and/or after hours work will be required on a shift basis

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 6+ years of experience in Operations, Integrity, Trust & Safety, Escalations Management, Program/Project Management, Business Strategy, Consulting or similar

  2. Experience building effective relationships and collaborating with a large and complex cross-functional group including Public Policy, Legal, Sales, Product, Oversight Board Governance and others to shape, support, and lead execution of multiple program or project goals

  3. Experience working independently and reliably under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  4. Analytical-thinking and problem-solving experience

  5. Highly organized and proactive

  6. Experience influencing without authority and leading complex initiatives across multiple teams

  7. Sense of international cultural & political awareness

  8. Understanding of the power of social media for business and our global community and the issues that are inherent to it

  9. Ability to work with potentially graphic and objectionable content

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree in business (MBA) or equivalent experience

  2. Six Sigma Blackbelt and/or PMP Certification, operations, policy, information systems, journalism, legal, or equivalent experience

  3. Experience gathering and/or analyzing data to influence business decisions, improve internal systemic efficiencies, and/or understand risk trends in content

  4. Experience working with all levels of management, both internally and externally

  5. Experience in or understanding of the process and operational needs of at-scale content moderation

Public Compensation:

$118,000/year to $172,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
