The opportunity

EY has a robust life sciences commercial practice, helping clients with strategic growth, business transformation, and commercial excellence. This senior role within our Consulting practice will have the opportunity to lead large engagements, build solutions, lead teams, and innovate in the market. Our practice works with large pharma, biotechnology, medical device manufacturers, and medical technology industries. You will be an integral member of our life sciences consulting team, and spend most of your time focused on providing client services in the following areas: business transformation, commercial operations, commercial data and analytics, commercial strategy, market access, growth strategy, operating model optimization, technology implementation and enterprise transformation.

Join our dynamic Business Performance team, specializing in Transformation Architecture and Delivery. As a Senior Manager in Transformation Architecture, you will play a pivotal role in designing, architecting, and delivering large-scale transformation of service delivery models and enterprise operations. You will apply sector-specific business drivers, market events, operating principles, and transformation trends, assembling expertise covering all enterprise functions to lead transformations that generate long-term client value. This role offers the unique opportunity to advise teams and client C-suite executives on their transformation strategies, helping them design and implement complex programs.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of complex processes, solutions, and/or projects, maintaining focus on quality and risk management while navigating operational and organizational dynamics. You will:

  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Develop solutions to complex problems and recommend changes to policies that affect your work area and possibly the business function within your area/department.

  • Be accountable for the budget, delivery, and performance of complex processes, solutions, and/or projects to achieve performance objectives.

Skills and attributes for success

To thrive in this role, you will need a deep insight in transformation architecture through analysis and knowledge of best practices to solve complex problems, drive thought leadership, and innovation. Additional key responsibilities include:

  • Strong experience with operational model strategy and build out in the Life Sciences

  • Prior experience leading teams and developing client relationships in the Life Sciences space with a specific focus on commercial and market access

  • Experience with market access, commercial analytics, and overall commercial strategy is a must have

  • Leading engagement delivery.

  • Accountable for program/project management.

  • Regular travel as needed by external clients.

  • Managing client relationships and engaging in daily interactions.

  • Leading client engagements from planning to execution and closure.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree); master's degree preferred.

  • Typically, no less than 5 - 7 years relevant experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience and experience providing advisory services in these industries, focused in at least one of the following areas:

  • Commercial analytics

  • Brand strategy

  • Pricing and market access

  • Commercial operations model transformation

  • Digital campaign management strategy

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical datasets (e.g. pricing databases, prescription and claims databases, etc.)

  • The executive presence to interact with the C-Suite

  • A willingness to travel to meet client needs

  • Significant advisory/consulting experience is within life sciences is required

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $148,900 to $340,200. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $178,700 to $386,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
