About the Role

The Director of Events and Partnerships will be a critical leader charged with advancing Athleta’s mission, priorities, and growth strategies through this lens. This leader will grow brand awareness, credibility and emotional connections among our customers through groundbreaking events and partnerships with VIPs, athletes and like-minded brands. They will play an integral role in the development, evolution, and implementation of Athleta’s events, partnerships and activations strategies.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the overall strategy and creation of innovative tactics that leverage events and partnerships to increase Athleta awareness, engagement and brand love

  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute all facets of events, partnerships and activations, including product, marketing, PR, content, online and in-store experiences

  • Play a key leadership role in managing Athleta’s national events, activations and brand experiences

  • Create event execution plans, working in tandem with Athleta marketing vehicle leads

  • Manage operational implementation of all facets of the Athleta events, including securing creative/program assets, developing schedules and deadlines, partnering with cross-functional teams required for execution, etc.

  • Travel onsite to programs (when applicable) to ensure continuity and exceptional onsite experience

  • Serve as main connection to and manager of partner relationships, adeptly handle celebrities and elite athletes, nurture and grow the relationship over time

  • Keep a keen eye on sports and culture to identify and develop partnership prospects

  • Develop and socialize ideas and strategies to continue to make Athleta events, activations and partnerships high-reach and highly engaging

  • Ensure all projects are on strategy, brand and budget

  • Provide frequent updates to Athleta leadership and stakeholders on strategy, execution and results

Who You Are

  • 10+ years experience planning and executing large-scale corporate and consumer events and partnerships

  • Experience serving as key point of contact on strategic relationships

  • Expertise managing partnerships from contract to execution

  • Fluency working within a matrixed and collaborative organizational culture

  • In-house experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results through coaching, innovation and accountability

  • Agile, proactive, can work in fast-paced environment and able to prioritize effectively

  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Outstanding collaboration and project management skills, including demonstrated track record in managing complex projects across functional lines and through creative problem-solving

  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the Fashion/Sports/Fitness industries

  • Inspirational leader of small and scrappy teams

  • Experience in budget planning and management

  • Ability to travel

Salary Range: $164,200 - $217,500 USD

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
