Pay: $120K/YR+ DOE

Essential Duties:

  • Partner with the client EHS team to effectively ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

  • Assist client with implementing and executing specific EHS programs at scale across client’s locations, coordinating the ABM team’s efforts though to implementation.

  • Ensure that all EHS-related events involving the ABM team are reported in a timely manner to the client’s EHS team. This includes injuries, near misses, safety concerns, and good catches.

  • Responsible for implementing and evaluating safety efforts that effectively communicate and support ABM safety policies in a consistent manner with a key focus on incident prevention and loss abatement.

  • Ensure that all subcontractors engaged by ABM on behalf of the client are properly trained and qualified to safely perform their scope of work. Assess and monitor subcontractors’ performance to assure that work is performed safely.

  • Participate in site risk assessments led by the client EHS team.

  • Lead the development of Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) for the ABM team’s work tasks, identifying the associated hazards and designing and implementing controls to mitigate identified risks.

  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with ABM’s safe working requirements.

  • Lead regularly scheduled safety audits, risk assessments, inspections, training and meetings to determine the effectiveness of ABM’s safety and accident prevention activities.

  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections led by the client’s EHS team.

  • Conduct accident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions for events affecting ABM team members.

  • Maintain compliance with all OSHA recordkeeping requirements for ABM team members, including but not limited to, OSHA 300 logs, training records and other compliance programs requirements specified in state-led OSHA and Fed OSHA.

  • Facilitate implementation of safe work techniques, effective safety methods and processes, training and regulatory compliance for ABM team members.

  • Drive the evolution of ABM’s safety culture by ensuring that all business strategies and safety initiatives align with ABM’s vision, mission and goals.

  • Maintain knowledge of safety, health and environmental regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state and local and possess the ability to evaluate, document and report on compliance with policies, procedures, rules and regulations to ensure operational compliance.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health Technology, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an EHS role.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to work on a team and collaborate with coworkers.

  • Successful implementation of injury reduction initiatives.

  • Proficient in Google Suite and other Google products.

  • Skilled in project management, problem-solving techniques and communicating ideas and instructions clearly.
