The MTV Entertainment Groups Business & Legal Affairs (BALA) team works closely with various client groups, including Ad Sales, Talent, Digital, Music, and Original Programming departments. BALA handles production and development legal for Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, and Showtime, among others. More specifically, BALA handles various deals for different workflows, such as production and development of long form and short form content, podcasts, and marketing legal.

Key Internship Responsibilities:

The intern will be exposed to lots of work in different areas of BALA's practice with a specific focus on television. Some of the intern's responsibilities may include:

• Drafting appearance releases and other talent agreements, as well as reviewing and drafting other agreements as needed for TV.

• Helping manage the deal process, such as tracking and organizing contracts

• Research projects

• Data collection and management (such as tracking talent options and guest restrictions)

• Assisting with production legal matters for late night programming

• Reviewing scripts and rough cuts

Eligibility:

• Internships are available to students enrolled in a JD/LLM program in the fall of 2025. If you are graduating by May/June 2025, please check our website for full-time job opportunities closer to your graduation date.

• You must be available to intern full-time (5 days a week/36-40 hours a week) for 10 weeks total starting in June.

• Interns will be required to work hybridfor the duration of the program.

• Internships are paid at a competitive standard hourly rate (school credit is optional).

• Employment eligibility to work with Paramount in the United States is required as thecompany does not engage in sponsorship for internships.

The hourly rate for this position is $27.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
