Responsibilities

This position manages all the case management clerical duties for the workers compensation program including: referrals authorizations no-show follow-ups as well as communication with adjusters employers and patients. The Coordinator will also make referrals for urgent care and track all referrals. The Coordinator will organize medical surveillance paper work (i.e. physical exam documents) for San Francisco City & County referred patients. The Coordinator uses critical thinking skills to address problems and will immediately notify the Nurse Manager when a problem exists. This position is responsible for providing back up coverage of all administrative tasks related to patient registration and discharge in the Clinic and oversees all accounts receivable functions on a day-to-day basis. Schedules patients including gathering pertinent information for patient registration and billing. Performs tasks associated with treatment authorization and referral services.

This position assists with daily office operations. Assures for timely and efficient flow of patients through the Clinic from the initial call or presentation in the reception area to discharge from the Clinic. Presents positive image to the public and takes responsibility for identifying communicating and generating solutions to problems related to the smooth running of the office. Maintains confidentiality of patient and department information. Applies CHW Core Values to the performance of every job duty. Special skills and knowledge include familiarity with computers word processing medical terminology spreadsheets CPT/ICD9 coding and workers compensation procedures and experience with registration and billing.

Incumbent must also be able to type 35 wpm with accuracy have good organizational skills excellent communication skills and effective written skills.

The incumbent in this position should be a high school graduate or equivalent

At least five years of progressive clerical experience in a health care setting.

Qualifications

At least five years of progressive clerical experience in a health care setting. Prior Occupational Health and Workers? Compensation experience strongly recommended. Minimum of 3-5 years combined experience in healthcare industry 1-2 years of experience with a minimum of 1 year in area of related field Complete annual safety training. Complete and maintain department specific training. Pay Range

$36.33 - $41.30 /hour
