Uber Staff Scientist, Membership in San Francisco, California

About the Role

The Membership team is responsible for developing and reinventing the UberEats and Uber app to be a member-first experience from price to perks. We drive one of the strongest incremental programs at Uber and innovate/iterate fast! You will collaborate across teams, including UberEats, Rides, FinTech, etc.

What You Will Do

  • Develop data-driven business insights and work with cross-functional customers to find opportunities and recommend prioritization of product, growth, and optimization initiatives.

  • Design and analyze experiments, present results that provide actionable recommendations.

  • Define how our teams measure success by developing Key Performance Indicators and other user/business metrics in close partnership with Product, Science, and Engineering

  • Orient our teams around data-driven product development by driving the creation of logging, metrics, data visualization and diagnostic tools, and experimentation paradigms.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  • Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.

  • Minimum 4 years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent.

  • Experience in experimental design and analysis, exploratory data analysis and statistical analysis.

  • Experience with dashboard/data visualization toolings.

  • Ability to use Python to work efficiently at scale with large data sets.

  • Proficiency in SQL.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

  • Advanced analytics skills such as causal inference and non-standard A/B testing techniques.

  • Basic knowledge of algorithm and model development.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines such as product, engineering, operations, and marketing to drive system development end-to-end from ideation to productionization.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
