In Q4 2023, Intel announced Altera will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024, with ongoing support from Intel. This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future with an anticipated target of Jan 1, 2025.

As we continue to expand our global operations, we are seeking a Global Business Services, Senior Director to lead the Stand-Up activities of Altera. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the standup roadmap, ensuring program alignment, and coordinating cross-functional teams to execute projects as well as ensuring that the Future State systems and processes align with our corporate objectives and culture. Post stand-up activities, the candidate will transition to role of Global Business Services (GBS) Leader. GBS Leader responsibilities will include leading and managing the GBS organization, which will provide contracting, vendor management, accounting and program management services for Altera's global operations. In the GBS role, the candidate will ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient and cost-effective services, while driving continuous improvement and innovation across the GBS functions. Additional responsibilities may include managing a portfolio of projects, ensuring compliance with service level agreements, optimizing operational efficiency, and driving customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will lead a team of service managers, analysts, and specialists, providing them with guidance, coaching, and feedback.

Job Summary: The GBS Sr Director at Altera will lead the Global Business Services organization, which is responsible for delivering shared services across functions such as Finance, Human Resources, IT, Procurement, and Workplace Operations. The successful candidate will drive the strategic direction and operational excellence of the GBS, ensuring that services are delivered effectively and efficiently to support Altera’s global operations. As Altera prepares for its full operational separation from Intel, the GBS Sr Director will also be called upon to assist with standup activities for end-to-end processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with CEO Staff to develop and implement a strategic plan for the GBS organization that aligns with Altera’s overall business strategy.

  • Oversee the delivery of shared services, ensuring high-quality standards are met and services are delivered in a cost-effective manner.

  • Manage the delivery of global business services, including finance, accounting, human resources, procurement, and IT.

  • Define and monitor KPIs, drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of GBS services with business needs.

  • Oversee the implementation of new technologies and systems to improve GBS processes and capabilities.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for improvement and growth of the GBS services, ensuring alignment with the business needs and market trends.

  • Manage the GBS budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support business priorities.

  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies and procedures across all GBS functions.

  • Represent the GBS organization in executive meetings and provide updates on service delivery performance and initiatives.

  • Lead and develop a diverse and talented team of GBS professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and excellence.

  • As required, assist in execution of the the Altera Stand-Up roadmap and program, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged.

  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across the organization. Apply advanced international stakeholder management strategies, such as communication, negotiation, influence and conflict resolution, to address complex and sensitive issues and achieve win-win outcomes.

  • Work closely with the Intel Corporate Development team to understand the separation dependencies and timelines and the impact on Stand-Up activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a leadership role within a shared services or operations environment.

  • Proven track record of managing global teams and delivering shared services at scale.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Cross Functional Program Management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Knowledge of best practices in shared services and outsourcing.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.

  • Proficiency in the use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other business technologies.

  • Preferred: Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $219,352.00-$351,256.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience
