TEKsystems Digital Program Manager - Events in San Jose, California

The Opportunity

• Manage the development and implementation process for virtual events, including pre, live and post event states

• Coordinate departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing platform capabilities to enable one-of-a-kind event experiences

• Responsible for projects from initiation through delivery including defining the project team, planning and maintaining multi-track schedules, drive event readiness activities, lead live-event support tasks and ensure a flawless transition to the post-event experience

• Lead cross-functional activities and teams, ensuring completion of high-quality projects on time and within budget

What you’ll do

• Proactively drive regional program execution and associated scope, timeline, and resources with minimal guidance

• Provide support on various workstreams, partnering closely with the lead Program Manager on flagship events

• Develop detailed, cross-team project or program plans that take into account all requirements, constraints, resources, and results associated with defined objectives

• Aggregate, organize, and synthesize program and project information in order to communicate with extended team and management

• Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired program outcomes

• Coordinate and run operational, project, and executive check-in meetings

• Work closely with Product Managers to build clear roadmaps/project plans and clarify requirements

• Continually evaluate existing processes and procedures and drive improvements

• Establish credibility with peers and be a driving force for change when needed

• Perform risk management: identify, analyze, respond, and control risks, resolve project-specific issues and partner concerns in a timely manner

• Deliver clear status communication to project teams, partners, and leadership teams

• Assist Engineering Managers with resource assessment and release planning

• Drive tactical decisions for projects that are under your direct responsibility

• Engage with regional teams for international deployment of capabilities and content

What you need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 5 years of program/project management experience preferably with large enterprise web projects

• Hands on experience with Agile & project management methodologies with confirmed leadership capabilities

• Solid understanding of Web technologies, including web content management systems (specific Adobe Experience Manager experience a plus)

• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Project, SharePoint, JIRA, and Wiki

• Excellent business partner management and presentation skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

*Not a traditional events role. This PgM will be interfacing with Engineering teams, so its critical that the candidate has technology experience. Someone lacking web, .com, or front-end project experience will not be able to handle nature of work as traditional events is nontechnical.

  • Can tackle large projects with tight deadlines and a lot of content

  • Can take direction and help in the weeds

  • Experience with content and authoring. Landing Pages, email templates, etc.

  • Ability to define teams, coming up with work stream teams and partners and create and drive the program themselves

  • Potential eventually own most of the whole process and manage smaller events by themselves

  • Must be comfortable working overtime and some weekends before major events

  • Focus on managing sponsors area, sessions area, partnering with product managers and web teams on functional areas

  • Need to make sure the right questions are being asked, will help to define complicated schedules, make sure things stay on track, escalate things when needed, help to refine or define processes
