About the Role:

As a CBRE Events Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision of the team responsible for planning, coordination, and day-of execution of meetings, conferences, and events.

This job is part of the Events job function. They are responsible for the creation, management, and execution of marketing events for internal and external clients.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.

  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff deadlines.

  • Act as the primary on-site event operations leader. Oversee operations of events from start to finish according to client requests for seamless delivery. Provide event support as needed.

  • Support team as needed. Coordinate with partners. outside vendors and event professionals.

  • Responsible for onsite planning including managing vendors and verifying certificates of insurance.

  • Ensure event operations are compliant with location safety, security, and other requirements.

  • Identify enhancements for event success. Review and suggest improvements in processes, procedures, and systems to improve team efficiency. Generate reports to measure productivity and perform evaluations.

  • Resolve complex problems and identify appropriate approaches to existing solutions to accomplish team objectives.

  • May establish new techniques to ensure the team can meet its objectives.

  • Have a direct impact on the team objectives as well as the objectives of related teams.

  • Ensure personal and team outcomes have a positive impact on customer objectives.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Guide team through the application of basic knowledge of practices and procedures. Work to build consensus.

  • High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of job-related experience. Bachelor’s Degree desired.

  • Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Fulfill the physical requirements associated with this role.

  • This includes standing in position for extended periods, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling, and frequently lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Experience with furniture repair (tables/desks, banding, cables, picture hanging, and office chairs).

  • Computer hardware knowledge (setting up monitors, docking stations, mice, keyboards, monitor arms, and cable management).

  • Experience with patching holes and painting walls.

  • Attention to detail when setting up events - following a detailed layout map and written instructions.

  • In-depth understanding of a range of processes, procedures, systems, and concepts within own job function and basic knowledge of related job functions required.

  • Requires the ability to explain complex concepts or sensitive information.

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Excellent organizational skills with a master-level inquisitive mindset.

  • Exceptional math skills. Ability to calculate sophisticated figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.

  • Good organizational skills, work well under pressure with multiple deadlines and demonstrate a proactive approach to routine and non-routine occurrences.

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Meeting & Events Supervisor position is $75,000 annually [or $36.05 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Meeting & Events Supervisor position is $98,000 annually [or $47.11 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
