Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with expertise in HVAC/MEP to lead and manage projects from estimation to execution in San Jose, CA. This role involves developing budgets, estimating costs, and overseeing plans and documentation. The Project Engineer drafts and designs HVAC/MEP projects while coordinating procurement, managing resources, ensuring efficient project execution, and maintaining financial oversight. Strong leadership, effective communication, and a focus on client satisfaction are key to success. If you excel at AutoCAD, Revit, load calculations, and completing RFQs and RFIs, this role is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Professional Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with co-workers and clients.

• Client Relationships: Build and nurture client relationships to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.

• Documentation: Draft and understand proposal letters, RFIs, RFQs, and T24 documents.

• Software: Develop permit drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.

• Project Management: Review and compile submittal packages in a timely manner.

• Estimating: Complete takeoffs and prepare a summary of costs.

• Team Leadership: Establish, lead, and manage project teams effectively.

• Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve project-related issues to ensure smooth execution.

• Procurement: Procure necessary materials and equipment in a timely and efficient manner.

• Cost Management: Maintain accurate cost control and projections for all projects.

• Mentorship: Lead by example, providing mentorship and guidance to team members.

• Accountability: Support accountability for both individual projects and the Mechanical, Electrical, and Piping/Plumbing (MEP) department.

• Procedural Adherence: Follow and uphold established Air Systems Project Management procedures.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC/R concentration preferred

• 3-5 + years HVAC Experience in project engineering

• Experience working with Revit

• I.T. Certification, P.E. license a plus

Competitive Salary : $110,000 - $120,000 per year based on experience.
