Intel Principal Engineer - System Architect - Simics in San Jose, California

In Q4 2023, Intel announced PSG will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024 with ongoing support from Intel. This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future.

The Software and Solutions Configuration team is looking for a seasoned Systems Architect who can define and lead our Transaction Level Modeling and Simics Modeling roadmap. This opportunity will involve working closely with our customer obsessed team that will shape the next generation FPGA architecture for configuration and embedded software. These models will drive our pre-Silicon and customer deliverables for future solutions supported by our FPGAs. This forward-looking and highly dynamic role provides unique opportunities to influence future product direction across several technologies and organizations while fundamentally driving advanced shift-left activities.

The role requires a self-starter with strong interpersonal communication, collaboration, and pathfinding skills along with a broad understanding of digital design and modeling. Experience in Intel FPGAs and Structured ASICs would be a distinct advantage.

About the role:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work directly with Silicon design teams, CAD tool teams, applications engineering and planning to define and influence new FPGA product development to drive holistic customer solutions that meet market requirements and delight customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with domain experts across Altera and in the industry to study the behavioral and performance modeling domains, roadmaps and strategies.

  • Innovate new concepts and drive new features leading to world class modeling solutions ensuring the fastest TTM for our internal needs as well as enabling our FPGA customers.

  • Help set the direction of the Transaction Modeling and Simics architecture requirements and own the end-to-end enabling strategies for internal and external customers.

  • Collaborate with experts within Altera and the industry to develop solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience

  • 10+ years of experience in SoC or platform architecture with 5+ years of experience in TLM or Simics modeling.

  • 8+ years of experience modeling SW and validation.

  • 5+ years of experience in developing models for next generation SoC architectures

  • 5+ years of experience in SystemC, DML or related languages

  • 1+ years of experience in C/C++ or related languages

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure and understanding of CI/CD is a plus

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $186,760.00-$299,166.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
