Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Summary of the Role: This is an outstanding opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Senior Financial Analyst. The Sr Financial Analyst will serve as a business partner to our global product management teams providing outstanding financial support and delivering valuable analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making, ultimately helping drive profitable growth for the business unit. The role partners closely with the business unit FP&A team, Operations Finance, as well as Regional finance teams to align on financial expectations and help the business unit achieve its annual operating targets.

The position will be based in San Jose, California and will report directly to the Senior Finance Director for the global LSMS business within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (CMD) Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Act as the primary financial contact for global product management teams.• Develop and deploy meaningful reports, analytics, and insights to support decision-making and unlock growth opportunities.• Conduct regular business reviews with product teams, providing deep analysis of business trends, market share, competitive analysis, and growth development.• Participate actively in the sales and operations planning process to improve and ensure accuracy in the revenue forecasting process.• Conduct financial evaluations and scenario modeling to accurately assess R&D project investments and support portfolio prioritization decisions.• Perform financial analytics to evaluate promotional and pricing strategy decisions.• Support product teams in developing medium to long-term business plans and financial outlooks.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in finance or business analyst roles.

  • Experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organization preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • • Demonstrated experience in business/financial analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.• Proven track record of valued business partnership, delivering analysis and insights to support and influence decision-making.• Self-starter with a consistent track record of driving projects through to implementation.• Attention to detail and consistently delivering high-quality work. Ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.• Strong networking skills and ability to work within a diverse, global, matrixed environment.• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop trusted working relationships across all organizational levels.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Customer-focused approach and behavior.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $112,500.00–$168,750.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
