Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
Ability to operate a variety of turf and grounds maintenance equipment, riding, zero turn and push mowers, line trimmers, tractors, and paint machines
Ability to communicate verbally and receive instructions that may require duties to be completed individually or as part of a team
Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and make decisions
Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, prepare work logs and records, perform basic math
Ability to perform strenuous physical duties outdoors in various weather conditions, including walking long distances
Ability to work in inclement weather
Preferred Qualifications
Texas Department of Agriculture –Pesticide Applicators License.
Experience maintaining and/or marking athletic fields.
Job Description
Responsible for providing attractive, safe, and well maintained grounds.
Job Duties
Mow and trim grounds.
Pick up litter.
Fertilize soil.
Conduct chemical weed control.
Maintain and mark fields.
Prepare field for games.
Maintain, service, and adjust equipment.
Maintain work logs, mileage, and equipment manuals and chemical records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information to Applicants
- This position requires driving University vehicles.
