BeiGene Director, Strategic Evidence in San Mateo, California

The Director, Strategic Evidence, will possess an understanding of US market access priorities, evidence generation, and proficiency in AI technologies. As a key member of our team, you will leverage your knowledge of market access dynamics, evidence needs and research methodologies to develop and drive evidence streams that are strategic, customer focused and optimize patient care decision-making processes.

The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with account directors and matrix partners to develop and support the execution of research projects that align with business priorities. You will coordinate with other team members in identifying and developing relationships with data vendors, strategic partners, and various market access segments in collaboration with account teams and market access stakeholders (HEOR, medical affairs, fHEOR). This role is critical in identifying appropriate RWD sources and opportunities for patient centric initiatives.

Essential Functions of the job:

Market Access Strategy Development:

  • Identify access data and evidence priorities that address market dynamics, reimbursement landscapes, and regulatory environments in the life sciences sector.

  • Collaborate with matrix stakeholders in working with key stakeholders, addressing segment needs, and planning for market trends influencing patient access for new and existing products.

AI Integration and Analysis:

  • Understand the current and emerging AI and machine learning techniques to analyze complex datasets related to market access, healthcare economics, and patient outcomes.

  • Foster cross-business collaboration, and work with external partners to leverage learnings from predictive models and algorithms used in planning for market trends that optimize market access and patient care.

  • Stay abreast of advancements in AI technologies and methodologies relevant to strategic evidence generation and market access in the life sciences industry.

Strategic Evidence Generation:

  • Design and execute evidence plans/tactics using fit for purpose data and real-world evidence (RWE) that support market access initiatives and demonstrate the value of therapies

  • Collaborate and coordinate with other Market Access functions including MD Networks & Strategic Accounts, MA Payers & Reimbursement, Patient Services & Distribution, and MA Contracting & Pricing Strategy, and with cross functional teams within the BeiGene organization: COBA, HEOR, and Medical Affairs to inform and ensure alignment of evidence strategies for access and real-world data / evidence initiatives.

Required Education:

  • BS in science degree required.

  • Advanced degree (MA or PhD preferred) in life sciences, health economics, or a related field preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS with 10 plus years, or an MS or PhD with 7 plus years of experience, in the life sciences and market access including customer engagement, experience with data, and analytics responsibilities; strong preference for hematology and/or solid tumor oncology background

  • Strong understanding of AI methodologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics.

  • Experience working with organized customers, and / or past direct work experience at claims, EMR / EHR, real world data vendors, IDNs, Health Systems, GPOs, large Community Practices.

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and conducting research, including real-world evidence (RWE) generation and patient-centered outcomes projects.

  • Strong analytical skills and statistical methodology, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.

  • Solid understanding of healthcare policy, reimbursement systems, and regulatory frameworks in the United States.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to present findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects, and deliver effective results within defined timelines

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct supervision, high level of cross functional and pan-regional collaborations with internal stakeholders

Travel:

  • Remote US Based role, with approximately 30% travel.
