As a Wellness Counselor at Horizon, you will….

• Facilitate groups across Campus and develop and maintains curriculum by researching health studies; smoking cessation, diabetes, heart disease, fitness, nutrition and a variety of other topics that relate to health and wellness.

• Facilitate and monitor a variety of recreational activities across Campus whether indoors and/or outdoors based on planned Wellness Activities and Events.

• Teach a variety of group exercise classes; dependent on certifications and experience. Number of classes per week will be based on wellness schedule and counselor availability.

• Offer one on one training to patients across Campus based on patient physicality and goals.

• Provide Wellness Programming details to new patients to include but not limited to; Building Maintenance & Safety, Fitness Waiver, Therapy Dogs, etc.

• Plan, organize and facilitate various events across Campus to incorporate all patient interests in Wellness Programming such as Olympics, Tournaments, Hiking and Disc Golf Outings, Movie Nights, etc. Events scheduled based on wellness schedule and counselor availability.

• Teach and supervise patients across Campus in the proper usage of fitness equipment

• Develop Wellness program to meet patient individual and group needs

• Maintain Fitness Waiver Compliance and Communication

• Maintain certifications

• Complete Group Notes based on facilitated Recreation, Health Ed and Orientation schedules across Campus

• Maintain and coordinate safety checks of fitness equipment across campus; works with vendor to coordinate safety checks and repairs

What makes you a great candidate?

• Associates degree in Fitness or Wellness -OR- High School Diploma/equivalent with 2 years of experience in health/wellness related field.

• Personal Training Certification is a plus

• Group Exercise Certification is a plus

• CPR Certification is required

Location:

This position is located at 6321 Inducon Dr E, Sanborn NY

Hours:

This is a full-time position from Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

Compensation:

Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. This position starts at an hourly rate of $19.00 - $20.00. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.
