Position:Dance Coach Coed – Sandpoint Middle School

Coaches in the Lake Pend Oreille School District play a crucial role in enriching the education and development of student-athletes. Extracurricular activities like dance promote student engagement, teamwork, and connection to the school and community.

We are looking for an energetic and dedicated Co-ed Dance Coach to inspire and guide students in the art of dance. You’ll collaborate with the team to create a positive and supportive environment for both beginner and experienced dancers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing clear expectations for student dancers and performers.

  • Providing training, instruction, and guidance on dance techniques and choreography.

  • Assisting in organizing and coordinating performance schedules, practices, and team events.

  • Supervising practices, performances, locker rooms, and other related activities to ensure student safety and well-being.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders.

  • Previous coaching or teaching experience in dance or related activities preferred.

All Coaches - Yearly Required Trainings:

All coaches and sponsors need to complete the following trainings and turn in a current certificate, ASAP.

  • First Aid & CPR Certification within 90 days of hire, and maintenance of current certificate thereafter.

  • St. Luke's Concussion Course (https://idhsaa.org/concussion-certification) : Course taken yearly and current certificate on file.

  • NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Course (https://nfhslearn.com/courses/sudden-cardiac-arrest) : Course taken yearly and current certificate on file.

  • NFHS Student Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Course (https://nfhslearn.com/courses/student-mental-health-and-suicide-prevention) : Course taken yearly and current certificate on file.

    • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents/guardians and other stakeholders - Previous coaching experience in applicable sport preferredLake Pend Oreille School District reserves the right to close this position prior to the posted Application Deadline at its discretion.LPOSD will accord a preference to employment of veterans of the U.S. Armed Services in accord with provisions of Idaho Code 65-503 or it successor.
