The Integration and Controls Engineering Associate Manager will help to harmonize all aspects of integration and controls engineering activities across Newell Brands manufacturing and distribution. A key aspect will be development and deployment of global Integration and controls engineering standards and policies for factories and DCs. The Integration and controls Engineering Associate Manager will act as a subject matter expert and liaison with the Business units and other engineering disciplines in the deployment of Newell’s vision to leverages best in class technologies. Partner with Business units on designing, testing, installing, and maintaining control equipment and devices. The role will build an overall framework with the BUs to help with fabrication, operation, application, installation, maintenance and/or repair of integration and controls systems and devices. Also, this individual will develop and define the application of appropriate technologies for custom or standardized initiatives. Partner with BUs on execution of projects.

Specific Responsibilities

• Leads the standardization and implementation of smarter controls utilizing DeviceNet, Profibus and other architecture.

• Provide SME support for programing of HMI, PLC and DCS systems.

• Consult with teams on the configuration of HMI software, and upgrading of operator station PC hardware. Evaluates integration and controls systems and products by designing and conducting research programs.

• Development of integration and controls systems by studying requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations from operators.

• Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.

• Confirms system’s and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods, testing properties.

• Assures product quality by designing integration and controls testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.

• Provides engineering information by answering questions, overseeing research and requests.

• Completes projects including training and guiding technicians and operators.

• Deploy equipment specifications

• Debugs manufacturing processes for production-based environments.

• Create standard process, codes, tools and techniques for our business units applicable todeploying all aspects of integration and controls engineering activities on a global scale.

• Ensure all integration and controls engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are executed in conformance with Newell Brands established policies and objectives for industrial integration and controls systems

• Create a network with the business units and sites to harmonize the execution of projects such as assembly machines, instruments, controls, robots, etc.

• Establish data collection and analytics practices for identifying opportunities, measuring progress, and ensuring controls are in place after implementation.

• Develop trials for new methods / processes with the goal of replicating best practices across all applicable operations.

Key Qualifications

• BSIE, BSCS or University degree.

• 3-5 years relevant experience in integration and controls systems engineering in manufacturing and/or logistics.

• Strong character – ability to champion the right decision in difficult situations.

• Demonstrated track record of effectively building partnerships as well as managing and resolving challenges.

• Intermediate level skills developing analysis in Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint and/or MS Access.

• Strong planning & organizing skills. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.

• Initiative & follow-up, including a strong sense of autonomy.

• Ability to travel 50%-70% to factory and distribution center locations across the US and with a possibility of Internationally.
