Job Overview

Newell Brands’ Information Security (InfoSec) team is looking for a skilled Security Engineer to join our organization. In this high visibility role, you will spearhead support for Newell’s implementation of AI-driven applications and solutions, leveraging your skills to ensure the security and integrity of Newell’s systems and data. You will also perform technical assessments and support for new IT solutions being considered, collaborating across departments and business units to ensure the company is making sound security decisions. Additionally, you will evaluate existing architecture, offering recommendations to ensure alignment with industry best practices, and compliance with relevant government and regulatory requirements.

This role requires a strong understanding of Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, and Information Security. You will collaborate closely with teams across the global organization, including but not limited to Infrastructure, Identity and Access Management, Risk, Security Operations, Security Information Event Management, along with various business units. The ideal candidate will be proficient in understanding technical requirements, conducting research, staying current with the latest advancements in the field, and delivering analysis in a clear, precise manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess AI-driven solutions to determine they meet security standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate AI technologies and initiatives, focusing on technical assessment, design solutions, and risk, as pertains to information security.

  • Evaluate existing and proposed architectures, with the goal of ensuring the integrity of Newell’s’ systems, data and standards, while ensuring the business can operate with the least amount of friction.

  • Assess Cloud, OT, IoT, and mobile security solutions to determine whether they meet security standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Support audit reviews, as required, both internal and external, related to Newell Brands environments.

  • Responsible for supporting all global Information Security initiatives across Newell Brands

  • Assists in incident response activities, when applicable.

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and contributing to Information Security’s policies and standards.

  • Stay current with emerging security technologies, AI advancements, industry trends, and developments to ensure our security and network architecture remain cutting-edge.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of experience in security engineering and AI architecture.

  • In-depth knowledge of Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, data analysis, and AI frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of IT, Enterprise Networks, OT, and Cloud Security architecture.

  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards and best practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a critical and creative approach.

  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to articulate complex technical concepts effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, manage expectations

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identify and respond with minimal supervision

  • Certified AI Security Fundamentals (CAISF)

  • Certified AI Security Professional (CAISP)

  • Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK)

  • Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)

  • Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)

  • Global Response and Industrial Defense (GRID)
