Job Description:

Alta High School is looking for a qualified Head Coach for their Softball program.

This job is best suited for someone with significant experience in coaching softball at the high school level and is adept in developing young athletes while building a strong, positive, and competitive team culture that will include good sportsmanships and excellence in the classroom. The head coach will be a mentor and is expected to train and educate athletes in the game of Softball and the necesssary skills and techniques related to the game that will foster excellence and a winning culture both on and off the field. We expect the coach to serve as a positive role model for all students they interact with. We expect them to train and educate athletes in safety and injury prevention. The head coach will also be required to ensure that all facilities and equipment are treated with care in a responsible manner. The head coach will assist in conducting tryouts for a team or for an individual to participate in a competition, and select the players for a team who will represent the school in a positive way. They will also assist in organizing practices by supervising, instructing, and working with athletes to direct them in perfecting their abilities and providing them guidance in keeping fit for competition and teaching them how to react in positive ways under the pressure of competitive play and practice. In addition they will comply with the rules and regulations of the game and with all Utah High School Activites Association mandates and requests; Communicate to all students the policies of the team, school, and school district relating to school sponsored sports activities; Complete reports and forms as required; Foster a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment; Fulfill supervision responsibilities for all practices, locker rooms, games, and team trips; Manage all of the team's financial matters in a timely and professional manner, and perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Preferred Skills:

• Candidate must complete all required UHSAA courses, new hire paperwork, and completion of Register my Athlete/Coach account within 2 weeks of hire and before coaching duties may begin.
