Our client is a leading healthcare company with an urgent need for an External Referral Coordinator in Santa Ana, CA! This position is a temporary assignment through March 2025, but could extend. This job is fully onsite. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, along with 2+ years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or medical coding. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required. Candidates must be familair with medical terminology as well.

salary: $23 - $23.5 per hour

work hours: 8:30 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

• Review requests and process external referrals for outside medical care.

• Support External Referral Department workflows.

• Verify eligibility, coverage, benefits, confirm provider status, maintain compliance timeframes.

• Experience with CPT and ICD-9/10 cording knowledge required.

• Must be familiar with medical terminology.

• EMR/EHR, Epic software

• Background in medical billing, claims processing, or insurance preferred.

• Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred.

• Ideal experience: 2+ years in referrals processing, referral coordinating, or coding/medical billing/claims.
