Amazon Sr. Software Development Manager, AGI Information, Web & Knowledge Services - Amazon Knowledge Graph in Santa Barbara, California

The AGI Knowledge Graph team develops the services required to build, validate, and query the Amazon Knowledge Graph (AKG), an LLM-optimized, foundational component in the AGI tech stack.

As a Sr SDM of the AGI Knowledge Graph, you will be leading a strong team of software engineers and applied scientists to develop novel processes for constructing and enhancing the AGI Knowledge Graph; and enable high precision/recall & low latency access to its knowledge.

A successful candidate will have an established background in developing Machine Learning products; high quality/yield data processing workflows; low latency services; and understanding of how to leverage LLM technologies. They should also have a strong technical ability, appetite to learn, and a motivation to achieve results.

Key job responsibilities

Responsible for the full development life cycle of knowledge graph construction (ontology development, knowledge acquisition, knowledge validation); querying (programmatic and natural language-based); and optimization for low latency and LLM use.

A day in the life

You will work with the leadership of Web & Knowledge Services organization and other leaders in AGI Information and AGI to define the AGI Knowledge Graph roadmap and continuously expand its use across a variety of services that range from question answering to hallucination detection to recommendations.

About the team

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience

  • 5+ years of engineering team management experience

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

  • Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

  • Experience with creating & improving a variety of processes across product types & teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $198,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
