Nvidia Director, Software R&D Verification Testing and QA - Cumulus Linux in Santa Clara, California

NVIDIA is looking for an experienced Software Director, R&D Verification Testing/Quality Assurance to join the NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux Team! As leader of this team, working with cross-functional engineering and product teams, you will be responsible for building and leading Software Verification Testing and Test Infrastructure functions. These teams will be working on Cumulus Linux, HBN and NVUE that powers data centers that are accelerated, disaggregated and software-defined to meet the exploding growth in AI and high-performance computing.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing leadership and technical guidance to our experienced engineers and mentoring of new engineers. Fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within our team.

  • Managing a cross-geographical team of 25+ engineers and managers designing, developing, and performing comprehensive verification test plans for our unique infrastructure products.

  • Ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability of our products in Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing environments, through testing. Driving scalability testing for embedded network devices and performance benchmarking.

  • Spearheading improvements to our Python-based Test Automation infrastructure; Orchestrating stronger testing processes for improved efficiency and accuracy through rapid automation, failure analysis, and improved reporting.

  • Growing integration of virtualization technologies to simulate real-world network scenarios.

  • Collaborating closely with other teams, including Development, Product Management, and Customer Support, to align on test priorities, timelines, deliverables and capacity planning for lab equipment.

  • Championing Agile-based methodologies to enhance team efficiency, promote and cultivate innovation, and accelerate time-to-market.

  • Presenting insights and recommendations to key stakeholders through clear and concise presentations, demonstrating a deep understanding of technical concepts and business impacts.

What we need to see:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Strong background in Linux systems and Linux kernel networking.

  • 15+ overall years of experience with 7+ years managing cross-geographical organizations of 20 engineers or more.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to convey technical concepts and test results to both technical and non-technical audiences and customers. Flexibility to work across time zones.

  • Background in Open Network products such as Mellanox switches, Cumulus Linux, or SoNIC Network Operating Systems.

  • Strong understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 routing technologies, with experience designing and implementing verification test plans. Experience with scalability tests of embedded network devices and performance benchmarking, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.

  • Proficiency in programming with Python for test automation, data analysis, and reporting.

  • Familiarity with several automation framework like Robot Framework, PyTest, or Selenium.

  • Solid background in virtualization technologies including qemu, containers (e.g., Docker), and Kubernetes, with experience integrating them into test environments.

  • Experience working in Agile-based development environments, with a good understanding of Agile methodologies and practices. Enjoys a fast-paced environment, with a dedication to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

The base salary range is 308,000 USD - 471,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
