Oracle Software Development Manager-OCI Storage in Santa Clara, California
Job Description
The OCI Storage team is seeking a senior lead software engineer or junior level software engineering manager to join our rapidly growing OCI Storage team. This junior level management opening will be responsible for leading a small team of developers, mentoring, product direction, system/code reviews and still do hands-on development. Candidates must have a background in developing Cloud Storage and/or meta data services. We are a large enterprise product organization.
As a software engineering manager, you will:
Manage the design, development, and operations of a team within our Metadata Services group.
Collaborate with your team, peers, and senior leadership to identify requirements, coordinate delivery, and integrate solutions for new features and functionality.
Help define service strategy and roadmap.
Provide technical expertise and leadership.
Recruit and continue to build out a capable and cohesive engineering team.
Be hands on in developing produces as needed
Work directly with customers, ensuring outstanding service
This hybrid position will require one to be in the office 3 days week. We are located in Santa Clara or downtown Seattle. Relocation assistance is not available.
Full-time position with full Oracle benefits. Position to start immediately (upon proper notice).
This is an early, entry level software management position.

Responsibilities
Qualifications:
Ideally, you have 6+ years experience designing, delivering, and operating complex systems in production environments.
2-3 years experience managing or leading the design, delivery, and operation of large scale distributed systems for the cloud.
Demonstrable success mentoring and growing junior engineers to senior levels.
Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix fundamentals.
Strong knowledge of operating systems, databases, storage and distributed systems fundamentals.
Experience with build automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment tools

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $109,200 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
