Applied Materials Sr. Program/Project Manager – Business Intelligence & Analytics - (E4) in Santa Clara, California

We're looking for a solution-focused Data Scientist with substantial high tech industrial data experience to join our team. Specific Knowledge and Capabilities :

  • Hands-on data scientist, who is ready to experiment with huge data

  • Collaborate with our install team

  • Define, experiment, and build prescriptive, predictive models that span multiple functions within the business

  • Support ad-hoc data queries and decision making

  • Contribute to our data pipelines with in-depth knowledge of modern data modeling

  • Stay abreast of emerging data science/AI/ML technologies to identify business opportunities

  • Utilization of data visualization tools and PowerPoint for delivering key insights to stakeholders

General Responsibilities

Ensures that specific project and program objectives are defined for areas of responsibility, and that necessary preliminary activities (e.g., determination of outcomes, milestones, viability studies, and resource planning, among others) are completed to allow for effectiveness and focus during later stages of completion.

Ensures that all projects and programs assigned are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements, with specific attention to product/process specifications, project/program costs, resource utilization, and timeliness for completion.

Ensures that all phases of project, program and/or process development are documented and that information required in other functional areas is reported, disseminated, or transferred, as appropriate. Ensures compliance with company policies including (but not limited to) engineering/lab notebooks, patents, confidentiality, ISO (International Standards Org.) , safety and others as required.

Ensures that the utilization of all material and financial resources is carried out in an effective manner.

Effectively assigns work to subordinate staff, providing for professional development in addition to maximum productivity for the area. Responsible for development, support, maintenance and implementation of a large complex project/multiple medium sized projects through a team, utilizing team leads. End to end people management responsibilities for the assigned group.

Spearheads research and development of new technologies, as appropriate, and ensures that newly created processes, designs, and/or methodologies are incorporated into Applied Materials products/services, and/or disseminated to other areas as needed.

Effectively utilizes computing resources for optimization of design development activities and timelines.

Drives the application of principles, theories and concepts and determines the best course of action. Resolves complex problems of department wide operations.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 10+ years’ of industrial experience in data space with 5+ years as a data scientist in a fast moving, agile environment

  • Wide understanding of enterprise business processes and operating models, including install and service operation

  • Experience driving multi-region alignment and reviews

  • Excellent communication skills, problem solving, conflict resolution management, active listening, time management and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated consistent ability to lead cross-functional teams and working with other technical team members while mitigating or removing obstacles.

  • Possess strong communication skills both presentation and memo formats

  • Capable of hands-on with data science technology

  • Proven track record of achieving results through collaboration and teamwork.

  • Incredible attention to detail and a drive that motivates others on the team.

U.S. Salary Range:

$140,000.00 - $192,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
