Intel Standard Cell Design Engineer. in Santa Clara, California

Job Description

Defines, builds, and evaluates standard cell circuit and/or standard cell layout to meet design requirements such as power, performance, area, and cost. Develops standard cell circuits for cell libraries and drives transistor level circuit design and performance analysis. Performs modeling of standard cell circuits, CMOS device characterization, and timing, power, and reliability characterization. Works with IP and SoC design teams to understand physical requirements and integrate ideas to meet performance, power, and area goals. Works with process technology teams to define and refine process requirements for standard cell design. Verifies standard cell circuits for functionality, performance, and power. Reviews and validates EDA model views of standard cells. Serves as the primary point of contact between design and standard cell library providers to ensure that design requirements are being met.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must possess a MS degree with 1+ years of experience or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience in the following:

  • Experience with review of backend models oasis, oalibs and ndm.

  • Experience with one of the following tools: Virtuoso, ICC2, Fusion Compiler.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the following:

  • Experience with reviewing standard cell library layouts.

  • Scripting knowledge using tcl, python.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $106,231.00-$159,109.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
