Amazon Sr. Copywriter , Premium Content Production in Santa Monica, California

As a Senior Copywriter in the Premium Content team within Brand Innovation Lab team, you'll be creating innovative, one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of global brands, delivering clear, compelling narratives and copy for our advertisers. You'll partner with art directors, designers, solutions managers, strategists, producers and sales partners to create innovative work by hacking the Amazon canvas (Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video, etc). You'll lead projects and own client relationships, focusing on creating work that benefits the end customer while pushing the creative envelope. And with new tech rolling out all the time, there's always an opportunity to create something innovative on behalf of our clients.

This role will use data and insights to create campaign strategy and concepts, write copy, and develop scripts and templates for never-before-done brand experiences that will solve customer problems, on and off Amazon platforms. You have strong conceptual, presentation, storytelling and project management skills, as well as digital media, and of course, an acute attention to detail.

The candidate’s portfolio should feature interesting, insight-driven campaigns and ideas that solve an advertiser problem through a variety of different media channels, including but not limited to video, social, digital, activations, radio, and outdoor. This role will be client-facing, so having good presentation skills to share work in a succinct and compelling way is important.

Key job responsibilities

  • Concept, write and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands

  • Partner with art directors, designers, program managers, developers strategists and producers to create customer-focused solutions that deliver on advertiser objectives

  • Independently lead campaigns and collaborate with internal teams, clients and external agency partners

  • Exceptional writing skills that demonstrate the ability to create campaign content that attracts, retains, and grows an audience

  • Experience in audio-only media

  • Data-driven and obsessed with understanding customers and making work that delivers results

  • Present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies and internally

  • Proven ability to ideate for film, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential and social

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time to make aggressive deadlines

  • Mentor and inspire younger designers and creatives

About the team

The Premium Content team inside of Brand Innovation Lab team is the internal group within Amazon that creates one-of-a-kind campaigns and activations for global advertisers, like Pepsi, Microsoft, Adidas, Samsung, and Unilever. Using all of the different platforms within the Amazon canvas (Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video, Custom landing pages on Amazon.com, etc.), we create campaigns that reach millions of Amazon customers across our digital channels and out in the real-world. The Premium Content team specifically focuses on Prime Video Sponsorships and brand creative.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience at advertising agencies and/or in-house creative departments

  • Must have an online portfolio URL in your resume - demonstrating big thinking that can extend into any medium

  • Strong understanding of digital and social platforms, as well as their use within marketing

  • Exceptional writing skills that demonstrate the ability to create campaign content that attracts, retains, and grows an audience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote

  • Experience developing cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing teams to develop strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative executions

  • Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery

  • Experience managing creative (internal team of designers, copywriters, external agencies and freelancers)

  • Experience presenting creative concepts effectively to senior executives

  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
